Appointment of Director

The Foundation’s Trustees are pleased to announce the appointment of Revd Chris Martin who became the Foundation’s Director on 1st October 2023.

Before becoming the Director, Chris Martin served as Team Rector of the Golden Cap Benefice, a large group of parishes in West Dorset and East Devon, in the Diocese of Salisbury. He has also been an Associate Tutor for the South West Ministerial Training Course (SWMTC). Prior to ordination, Chris was employed as a Chartered Accountant and as a Tutor with a Financial Training Company.

Taken together, these experiences are well-matched to the role of Director given the Foundation’s responsibility for Anglican Chaplaincy at the University of Exeter and its role in funding theological education and supporting RE in schools.

Chris is a graduate of the University of the West of England (BA (Hons) in Accounting an &Finance) and also of Anglia Ruskin University (BA in Christian Theology).

Speaking of his new appointment he said: “I’m delighted to have been appointed as the Foundation’s next Director. Having benefitted enormously from the investment made in my own religious and theological education, and with such a keen sense of the significance and importance of chaplaincy in our day and age, I feel very much in tune with the Foundation’s principal objectives and  look forward to using the skills and experience I have acquired over several careers in serving St Luke’s in the furtherance of its aims and objectives.”   The office and registered address of the Foundation have now moved. Details are on the Contacts page of the Foundation’s website.
